Orange County Campaign for Change

Greetings all!

Tonight I went to a meeting of a new community organizing group that is going to be doing some wonderful stuff around here! We're calling ourselves OC3. I wanted to share the group's statement of purpose with you all and let you know that if you're interested in joining, you should let me know. Just e-mail me and I'll get you more information.

Orange County Campaign for Change (OC3) is a volunteer grassroots organization dedicated to local, regional, and global progress. We support initiatives which combine community and democratic ideals with direct action to meet the civic demands of all Orange County communities. Our foundational goal is to translate the enormous political change that has taken place on the state and national level into a local plan of action that will improve our communities and rebuild our state and nation by creating real and meaningful change on a local human scale. OC3 accomplishes its goals through political education and community organizing that respects and empowers every resident of Orange County.

Specific goals include:
1. Expanding voter participation through voter registration and voter education.
2. Organizing community building and community action projects.
3. Working with elected political leaders to ensure accountability and transparency to the electorate.
4. Organize active, collaborative support for President Obama's Plan to Renew America's Promise.

If you would like to be a part of this at its beginning - let me know. We're going to do some exciting stuff to make change real!

See you in a few weeks!!!

Whoa!

It's been forever. I lost my livingliberally.com login information and I haven't been able to send an e-mail out to people. Our next meeting will be on the 28th at The Station from 7:00 - 9:00.

Obama has been doing a lot of good things lately and I know that there's a lot I want to talk about. From EPA Mileage to Gitmo.

Also - just something funny to watch from our favorite crazy governor:

See you Wednesday night.
