Come on down to the Lockerbie to discuss the Indiana Democratic party's leadership fight, the new on-air campaign ad from Senate candidate Mourdock, yesterday's largely symbolic vote in the U.S. Senate on the Bush tax cuts, or what ever else you've seen in the news this week.

Second Helpings needs our help. For those unaware, Second Helpings is a local organization that helps feed those in need in Central Indiana, taking food that would otherwise go to waste while also giving valuable job training to those in need. http://www.secondhelpings.org
Second Helpings prepares over 3200 meals every day. Pasta is a staple of those meals- over 100 pounds of pasta are prepared every day by Second Helpings to feed kids, adults, and seniors. Currently their pantry is dangerously low and they have asked for donations. http://ow.ly/caN6I
I am asking those who attend tonight's DL to bring boxes of pasta. We will be collecting them to donate to Second Helpings on Friday. You could check your cupboards to see if you have pasta to spare, or even buy a few extra boxes to bring to the bar. For the cost of a pint of beer you can purchase several pounds of pasta. Donations are not required by any means, but your help will be greatly appreciated.

DL:Indy 07/05 - VENUE CHANGE!

Since the Lockerbie is closed this week, we will be meeting at the Chatham Tap on Mass. Ave. It's close by to our usual location, so hopefully it won't be too much of an inconvenience. Check out the Chatham's website if you've never been, the food and drink menu is available there: http://www.chathamtap.com Tonight is $4 English pint night.
On the topic of venues: In this brutal heat the Lockerbie's AC can not keep up, as any of you that attended last week can attest. I'd like to have a discussion tonight on what to do if when we have temperatures near triple digits again this summer. Would you rather have one alternate bar for simplicities sake? Or would you be open to changing up the venues on a week to week basis(as needs be), to experience more of the many excellent bars around Indy? Any suggestions as to alternate venues are more than welcome.
