Just a reminder to come for some socializing and political discussion with fellow progressives starting at 6:30 pm Thursday at the Brewhaus, 617 E Washington.

If you are interested in live music there will be a band opening at 7:30 pm for Tom Irwin’s regular Sunday show at the Brewhaus. It includes a musician visiting from Norway who we hear is a great guitarist and banjo picker. Chris & I are planning on going - hope to see you both Thursday and Sunday!

Since June 21st is the 3rd anniversary of the Springfield Drinking Liberally chapter, we will have a celebration!
I’ll order some pizza from Gallina’s to be delivered around 7pm so come join us for some eating, drinking and political discussion starting around 6:30 pm Thursday at the Brewhaus, 617 E Washington.

Also don’t forget to stop by the Trout Lily Café (218 S Sixth Street) starting around 9am for Drinking Coffee Liberally. Drinking Liberally Coffee happens the first and third Saturday of the month and offers another chance to socialize with fellow progressives (with a side order of political discussion).
Trout Lily is a great place for coffee and breakfast before or after the Farmer’s Market.

With a new Walmart Supercenter about to open and another planned for Springfield, I decided this was a good time to show a movie that tells the other side of what Walmart brings to a community. After the movie I'll have information about Walmart's latest plans for Springfield and what you can do about it.

Springfield Drinking Liberally’s 3rd anniversary is June 21st. We’ll try to do something special (pizza, etc) on June 19th to celebrate. We can talk over ideas this Thursday or you can email me if you can’t make it Thursday.

National Drinking Liberally has a new website www.livingliberally.org/drinking. You will be directed to it automatically from the old address of www.drinkingliberally.org.
