Hi folks,

I'm going to take a moment of personal privilege here, before getting to the normal weekly reminder:

Tonight will be my last night as a host of Drinking Liberally in Pasadena (I move to Berkeley next week). It has been a pleasure, and an honor, to get to know so many of you over the last three years. From our small (loud) beginning at Lucky Baldwin's, to giant election and State of the Union nights at Madeleines, and to many a warm night on the patio shooting the breeze on the news of the week, we've had so many great nights, with so many great folks. I know that Patrick, Lauren, and Mike will do a great job continuing our chapter, and I look forward to stopping by whenever I'm in town. I'll miss you guys.

The Fourth of July weekend is come and gone, I hope everybody got to see some wonderful fireworks. And now it's already Tuesday, so that means it's time to drink liberally! There's lots to talk about tonight, from today's FISA vote (I know I'll probably need a drink after that one) to presidential politics to gas prices, or whatever else is on your minds.

The weather's looking beautiful as usual, so we'll probably be out on the patio. The usual details:
