PasadenaElection Night Party @ Madeleine's (pasadena@drinkingliberally.org)Submitted by Patrick Burns on Fri, 10/31/2008 - 1:18am.Hey Folks Nervous? Jittery? On Edge? Cautious? Trying to be confident but are having flashbacks to 2000 and 2004? Stomach feeling all rumbly and tumbly? Join The Club! :^0 Tuesday's the night. The big night. The culmination of almost 2 years of political torment. I don't know about you, but I can't be alone. I gotta be with a crowd. Too much is at stake to sit this one out on the couch. I need emotional support. So, I'm going to be at Madeline's, hanging out in the banquet room, sipping on a glass of sauvignon blanc while working hard to keep my mind split between engaging conversation and the rapidly changing results on the T.V.. Perhaps I will be chatting with you. For this special evening, I have procured from Drinking Liberally headquarters, as well as from some other sources, a variety of door prizes to celebrate what will hopefully be an overall Democratic victory and the beginning of a new direction for our belabored country. We'll do drawings throughout the evening. We'll have the banquet room from 6pm until they kick us out. If you are unfamiliar with its location, when you enter the building, take a left into the restaurant and then a right at the end of the hall. For those who remember with irritation the technical difficulties we had at the last debate viewing, let me assure you that it's alllll good now (knock on wood). We have been guaranteed a glitch free evening (at least with the T.V.) :^) Bring a friend. I'm bringing a few myself. I look forward to seeing you Tuesday. I believe that this will be a night of positive change. If not, someone's got some explaining to do. ;^) Cheers to all Drinking Liberally Pasadena - Election Party Come Drink Liberally Tonight @ Madeleine's (pasadena@drinkingliberally.org)Submitted by Patrick Burns on Tue, 10/28/2008 - 2:41pm.Hey Howdy, Busy time. Busy time. One week to go. ARRRRGH! So much to do. So much to think about. We have 12 ballot initiatives to vote on next week. There are a few that are no-brainers to me, but the rest I am sadly ignorant on their details. I'll be bringing along my official voter's guide and would love to discuss the ballot with anyone who's willing. ELECTION NIGHT COVERAGE AT MADELEINE'S - Stay tuned to this bat channel for more info. I hope to see you tonight. Drinking Liberally Pasadena Cheers, Come Drink Liberally @ Madeleine's (pasadena@drinkingliberally.org)Submitted by Patrick Burns on Mon, 10/20/2008 - 2:07pm.Hey Howdy, Yes. This email is a day early. Please don't be confused. :^) I've got two things to talk about here... #1 - The Liberal Card - I will be giving away 5 Liberal Discount Cards tomorrow evening at our gathering. The Liberal Card is a national discount program that is just getting off the ground. At this time there are a dozen online retailers offering discounts and local merchants in 7 major cities doing the same. Sadly, there aren't any here in Los Angeles as yet, but I'm certain that will change very soon. I will be holding a free drawing at around 9pm. You must be present to participate. http://www.theliberalcard.org/ #2 - Election Night - I have already made inquiries about reserving the banquet room at Madeleine's so that we can comfortably watch the drama unfold. Personally, considering the importance of this (dare I say) historic election, I would very much like to watch the results with as many people as possible. Whatever the results may be, I think that group support is called for. See ya on Tuesday. Drinking Liberally Pasadena Cheers, Come Drink Liberally Tonight @ Madeleine's (pasadena@drinkingliberally.org)Submitted by Patrick Burns on Tue, 10/14/2008 - 11:00am.Hey Howdy, Firstly, thanks to everyone who came out last week for the debate. Technical problems aside, I don't think it went too badly. Well, three weeks to go. McCain/Palin seem to be pulling out all the stops, trying to play it like Rove would...say whatever you want and deny responsibility for the consequences. It got real ugly real quick, didn't it? It's good to see that for the most part people seem to be seeing through the BS. And Obama seems to be holding his own by swatting away the attacks and focusing on the issues. It's going to be a looonnnngggg three weeks. Well, I am certainly in need of a drink and some conversation. I hope to see you tonight. Drinking Liberally Pasadena Cheers, Obama vs. McCain - Round 2 @ Madeleine's (pasadena@drinkingliberally.org)Submitted by Patrick Burns on Tue, 10/07/2008 - 10:42am.Hey Folks Tonight's the night...Round 2 of the Presidential Debates. Obama vs. McCain in a Town Hall Death Match on the Economy, moderated by the behemoth of fair and balanced (snicker), Tom Brokaw. ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLLLLLLE?!? The debate goes from 6-7:30, with our regular gathering continuing on from there. The post debate punditry should be almost (if not more) entertaining than the debate itself. We'll be hanging out in Madeleine's Banquet Room with a big screen TV and plenty of comfy sitting space. If you are unfamiliar with its location, when you enter the building, take a left into the restaurant and then a right at the end of the hall. I look forward to seeing you there. It should be a heck of a night. You Betcha. ;^) Cheers to all Drinking Liberally Pasadena |
