To celebrate an Obama victory and (fingers crossed) a blue Arizona, we are gathering at Gentle Ben's, upstairs, 6 pm. Gentle Ben's is on University between Euclid and Park.

We will be playing an election game:
Guess the margin of victory

Using Gallup's likely voter predictions for every state (as of Monday 11/3), guess how close or far away Obama will be for every state. Ties will be broken with a guess on total electoral votes. Prize is yet to be determined.

Sorry for such a late update. Due to conflicting schedules, we postponed the forum on education for after the elections.
So, after long hours of campaigning, canvassing or making phone calls, join your liberal friends, relax, have a cold beer (or not). We'll be there at 6 pm, feel free to come anytime.
Don't forget to bring nonperishable items or $1 to donate to the Food Bank. Drink responsible and tip your waiter.

November's just around the corner and shortly after the election of our new president, we will be meeting to discuss The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein.

The meeting will be held on Monday November 10th at 7:30pm. If you want to come early (6pm) to grab a bite to eat and catch up with everyone, please feel free.

Go north on Sabino Canyon from Tanque Verde. When the road forks and becomes Sabino or Kolb, stay to the right (Sabino). Go through the light at Sabino and Snyder. About 0.5miles up on the left (west) side of the road is Ventana Vista Condos. To get through the gate, hit #-1-2-0-7. If you forget the code, scroll through until you find the name T Nelson and have it dial. I can let you in. Come straight through the gate (don't take the immediate left) but take the next left and come around to the clubhouse front door (it will be on your right). We will be meeting in the clubhouse.

READING LIBERALLY: 10/13

The October Reading Liberally will be held this Monday the 13th. We will be discussing The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith and Politics in a Post-Religious Right America by Jim Wallis. We will also be choosing our reading list for the next six months, so come with suggestions. From I-10, take the Ruthrauff Road exit. Turn LEFT onto Ruthrauff (which is renamed Camino del Cerro as you go under the expressway). Stay on Camino del Cerro westbound for several miles (you will cross Silverbell and Camino de Oueste) until you get to Tortolita Rd. Turn left (southbound) onto Tortolita and drive almost to the end of the road (about 1 mile). You will see a purple stucco driveway entrance on the left and that's us. We will have a lantern by the driveway entrance for late arrivals.

For those coming from downtown, take Oracle north to west on Wetmore (which turns into Ruthrauff) and follow the above.

Discussion of the book begins at 7:30pm.
