Two DL events this week

First, of course, we're meeting this Wednesday as usual. I might be a little late as I'm thinking of attending the following training session:

Join us at the next "Go Lead -Fundraising Training"

Whatever you are passionate about you will have a much larger impact if you know how to raise, leverage and spend money.

Start to conquer your fear of fundraising with this interactive training.

Date: Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm
Location: Gay and Lesbian Fund, 2215 Market St., Denver
Public transportation is encouraged. There is metered parking on the street and pay-lots as well.

Food will be provided. Training is Free!

RSVP to Faith at fwinter at thewhitehouseproject dot org.

Colorado Go Lead Trainings are hosted by:
· 9 to 5 National Association of Working Women,
· Center for Progressive Leadership,
· Colorado Black Women for Political Action,
· COLOR Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights,
· Latina Initiative,
· Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and
· The White House Project.

Then on Saturday is Netroots Nation in Your Neighborhood at the Westminster Doubletree. Registration is now $10 in advance, but the speakers include:

State Senator Morgan Carroll
Columnist Mike Littwin
Mike Lux from OpenLeft and author of "The Progressive Revolution"

and many others.

The event will have a drinking liberally happy hour starting around 5pm. If you can't make the conference, feel free to chat after. There will be an open bar outside the conference room.

How about your thoughts?

Yes, tomorrow is Drinking Liberally Denver. Whether you can make it or not tomorrow, I'd like your opinion on a few things:

Weekly or twice monthly? I thought weekly would help attendance, but if anything it seems to have hurt. Did I just give people more reasons not to come by?

Guests? Who do you want? We need Rep. Ferrandino to come back because of the snafu the last time he came to DL, but who else?

Finally, if you've attended more than a few times, what brings you back? If you've only been once, what's been keeping you away?

See, I'm just the chapter host, and after 3 and half years, maybe I'm out of ideas, or I'm oldy and moldy. So, let's hear from you about what would make Drinking Liberally Denver work for you.

If you like, rather than just emailing me, let the whole group know your thoughts, as this email will also be a blog post here:
