Exciting and super tiny election coming later this week

We're back to Drinking Liberally Denver on Wednesday as this is the 4th Wednesday of the month.

As I've mentioned before, we're going to have Wade Norris talk about a potential primary challenge to Michael Bennet by Andrew Romanoff. No, Wade wasn't able to get Romanoff himself. Word is he's actually on vacation out the country right now.

That would have been exciting enough until word came a week or so ago that Anne McGihon was resigning from the state legislature immediately (if not sooner). As soon as that was announced, the scrambling of Democrats in House District 3 could be heard for miles. The election to replace her will be performed by a vacancy committee of roughly 100 people in the district this week Thursday. One of those few vying for the position is our own DL Denver regular Aaron Silvertein. In between door knocking and calling vacancy committee members, he'll stop by to fill us in on his chances. Don't everyone buy him a drink on Wednesday. He'll need his stamina for the election.

From now on Drinking Liberally Denver is every:
2nd and 4th Wednesday
Skylark Lounge
140 S Broadway
7:30pm

Cheers,
John and Kath

Extra Netroots Nation swag

Yes, it's the leftovers from last Saturday's Netroots Nation in Your Neighborhood, but hey, it's free stuff.

The Netroots Nation staff sent along way more swag than we knew what to do with. So, if you'd like a copy of "This Brave Nation" a series of documentary shorts by Brave New Films and The Nation magazine, come on by Drinking Liberally Denver this Wednesday.

BTW, we're also going to go back to 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. So, while we will meet on the 4th, since I'm just telling you all about this now, after that meetings in March will include the 11th and the 25th.
