Tuesday's Drinking Liberally

It's been a quiet week since no one is willing to send any email now that FISA has been "expanded". I could not finish "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception" by Scott McClellan. Such a load of crap! If you read it, come an let me know how it ends? I'm now onto "Like No Other Time: The 107th Congress and the Two Years That Changed America Forever" by Senator Tom Daschle. I'm convinced that we send spineless jellyfish to Washington (fortunately there are a few exceptions).

Did anyone see the speech Obama gave on foreign policy (http://origin.barackobama.com/judgment_to_lead/)? If he would only vote as well as he speaks. I'm tempted to forgive him on his FISA vote, but I'm not ready yet. What do you think? Was it a mistake? should we just forgive and forget?

Opinions wanted. See you Tuesday!

Naperville's Drinking Liberally will meet this Tuesday at Quigley's Irish Pub at 43 East Jefferson in beautiful downtown Naperville at 6pm. We are usually in the "private" room. Just hang a right after you walk in the door and look for the crowd that's debating politics, economics, or religion and smiling and laughing about it. If you can't find us, ask the waitstaff or your bartender, they'll know where we are!

BTW drinking is not required. Come in have a soft drink and a snack and let's talk politics.

Thanks and keep the faith

Sunday's Drinking LIberally

Just so that you are aware, George Bush can now officially ready this email, all he has to do is declare you a terrorist. If you are reading this you are, in his definition, a subversive. Democrats caved again. Or do you think this was a good idea? Come over on Sunday and let's find out.

Oh, and just to confirm. The next time you are called into Congress, just don't show up (I wonder if I can get away with that in traffic court?). Nothing will happen (turns out the old cell that used to be in the capitol building was converted into a meeting room) and it'll just get dropped.
