Tuesday's Drinking Liberally

Did you get a 3am phone call? I'm glad I didn't sign up, 3am only works for me if I'm still awake! So the ticket is Obama-Biden, I like Joe Biden, he's fairly liberal and not one of the millionaire Senators. But does bringing in a guy from the Senate that's been there since he was 30, really help the "change" theme?

This Tuesday we are in the "cigar" room in the back of the pub. That room has a TV and we're going to have the Democratic National Convention on. If you planned on watching the convention anyhow, come join us! We have conversation and cocktails!

Also, don't forget that we are going to gather at Scott Harper's watch party on Thursday at Tailgater's at 7pm in Bolingbrook, don't forget to RSVP:

Naperville's Drinking Liberally will meet this Tuesday at Quigley's Irish Pub at 43 East Jefferson in beautiful downtown Naperville at 6pm. We are usually in the "private" room but this time we are going to be in the back in the "cigar" room (no smoking please). Just head to the back and look for the crowd that's debating politics, economics, or religion and smiling and laughing about it. If you can't find us, ask the waitstaff or your bartender, they'll know where we are!

BTW drinking is not required. Come in have a soft drink and a snack and let's talk politics.

BONUS - Drinking Liberally, Thursday Aug 28th

OK, turns out I can't seem to find a place to hold our own party, so I figured we can just jump on a party that's being thrown by one of our own members!

"Come and join Scott Harper, our Democratic candidate for Congress, and Democrats from the 13th District as we watch Barack win the nomination! Meet at Tailgaters at 7 pm for this special event to celebrate with other Democrats!"

Please sign up immediately. There is a limit to the number of people that Tailgater's will hold!

See you Tuesday (we should know who the VP is by then!) and hope to see you on Thursday!

Looking for help!

The BONUS edition of Drinking Liberally (Thursday Aug, 28) which I was hoping to hold the night Sen Obama accepts the presidential nomination is in doubt.

Quigley's has live bands on Thursday night, which is not really conducive to listened to TV and chatting. I've tried a couple of other venues and have come up dry. So I'm opening this up hoping that someone out there can find a place? Perferably in Naperville, and not too far from either downtown or I-88 (for our friends that come from far away).

If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!

Sunday's Drinking LIberally

So did Paris slam McCain or what? (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article44681...) "Negative" advertising always seems to work, but it's a shame the American people are so easily distracted. Things like "flag pins" (which technically is desecration) are a topic of conversation. Did anyone get a McCain tire gauge?

I'd like to know if anyone is interested in a BONUS Drinking Liberally on Thursday Aug 28th (the night that Senator Obama accepts the nomination). Come join us and let us know if we should have it and if you'd like to come!

Naperville's Drinking Liberally will meet this Sunday at Quigley's Irish Pub at 43 East Jefferson in beautiful downtown Naperville at 5pm. We are usually in the "private" room. Just hang a right after you walk in the door and look for the crowd that's debating politics, economics, or religion and smiling and laughing about it. If you can't find us, ask the waitstaff or your bartender, they'll know where we are!

BTW drinking is not required. Come in have a soft drink and a snack and let's talk politics.
