Thank you for everyone who came out to watch Obama and the unfortunate, dramatic, incredible conclusion to an incredible Rays season. Thank you again for those of you who signed up to volunteer for a campaign. I am very grateful.

I will have some kind of event happening on the 4th so keep your eyes open and your schedule clear...maybe for the 5th too ;)

Being the bad event coordinator that I am, I've unintentionally scheduled the movie night at the same time as Obama's 30-minute spot and, more importantly, the conclusion of game 5 of the World Series!

So the movie for tomorrow will be CANCELLED. We will still meet at Rock n Sports at 7 to watch Obama's spot and the game. We get 10% off the menu and drink specials. Sorry for the confusion or inconvenience. We'll definately have to get together at a later date to watch the movie though.

Drinking/Screening Liberally and the Hillsborough County Young Democrats invite you out for a screening of Oliver Stone's W! The screening will take place at the Muvico in Ybor City on Wednesday. They're screening the movie for us in the Premier room, and tickets will be about $12 but we're working on getting some discounts for our group. The movie starts at 7:25 PM and is about 2 and a half hours long.

After that you're welcome to head over to Rock-n-Sports for discussion and drinks. If you are interested in learning more about what you can do for the campaigns and seeing an acclaimed film from Oliver Stone, come on out to Drinking Liberally, cohosted by the Hillsborough Young Democrats. This Wednesday at 7:25PM! The Muvico in Ybor city is located at 1600 E 8th Ave, on the second floor above Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Centro Ybor.

As for the debate, this was a bit more lively than the last. I think the candidates felt it was one of the last chances for certain jabs at the other. And an opportunity to introduce "Joe the Plumber" which should have been a mini-drinking game in itself! So here's to all you Joe Six-packs and Joe Plumbers! Cheers!

So, as a result of the great turnout at Rock-N-Sports, plus the many advantages that they offer us, I've decided to move Tampa Drinking Liberally there on WEDNESDAYS! No longer Thursdays! But WEDNESDAYS! I emphasis the Wednesdays because now it allows for 2 days of Drinking Liberally, which I'll explain in a second. Rock-n-sports manager, Franya, has offered us drink specials for DL members and has a nice spot set aside to watch the debate. They also take credit and debit cards, and have a good beer and food selection.
I will be selling nifty DL buttons for $1. There will also be DL debate bingo!!! $1 per card, the winner gets a DL prize!
So come on out to Drinking Liberally EVERY Wednesday at Rock-N-Sports. 7PM. Come socialize before the debate (starts at 8)! Look for the DL painted bottle.

Also, Drinking Liberally Brandon has changed their location to Giordano's (www.giordanos.com, 11310 Causeway Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511). The original Bay area DL chapter meet every Thursday at 7pm. It was great to see Joe and Shirley Litton come out for the Vice Presidential Debate. I would love Tampa DL to have a great showing at Giordano's and have some great discussion of the last presidential debate. So go out and enjoy a second helping of Drinking on Thursday!

Was it me or was the town hall debate a tad lack-luster? Both candidates performed as expected though. From McCain taking credit for a financial plan that wasn't his, to one line quips towards each other, to an Brokaw's inability to keep tight reigns on the time, I'm excited to see what material SNL could salvage.

Rock-n-Sports enjoyed having us and I hoped you all had a good time. Julia, your server, was a bit overwhelmed when I told her 20-30 people and the headcount came to a little under 70. But Rock-n-Sports invited us back anytime. And that is something I wanted to talk about to all of you tomorrow!

So Come on out to New World Brewery tomorrow! Best beer selection in Ybor, incredible local music scene, and great pizza. I'm also selling $1 Drinking Liberally pins and Bingo cards for the 3rd and final debate onthe 15th.
