Citizens of Laughing Liberally -

There is terrible news and we need your help. We almost couldn't believe it when we heard it.

The liquor companies have turned against us. Johnnie Walker, Guinness and a handful of other brands are calling on their drinkers to OPPOSE healthcare reform.

We like drinking. And we like healthcare. So we ask you to sign this letter asking these companies to support our country and our future, and support reforms.

Please take action now:

We thought these liquor companies were our friends...they make us feel so good at night...and here's how they treat us.

Seriously, though: there are other distributors and breweries that are on our side; that provide healthcare for their workers and know that American needs to fix this broken system.

There is no reason for Johnnie Walker, Guinness and others to lobby against our interests. If anything, people working in nightlife -- bartenders, barbacks, bouncers -- need affordable, accessible health insurance more than anyone, since so few of them get it from their jobs.

Please help out by signing this letter -- and by supporting the cause, you're supporting Drinking Liberally. Our friends at SEIU will donate $1 to every Liberal Drinker who takes this action.

Help out now:

And please forward this message to anyone who loves both alcohol and progressive reform.

Congress on Break; Laughing Liberally on Stage -- Tonight!

Congress really puts the recess in recession.

The Congressional session ended with no agreement on healthcare, no Senate action on energy policy, and no real discussion of human rights from Guantanamo to Darfur.

So naturally, they went on vacation.

Fortunately, Laughing Liberally doesn't take a "summer recess" and will be on stage tonight, discussing all the issues the Senate hasn't discussed so far.

The Congressional Recess Show
Tonight - Wed, Aug 19th - 7:30pm
The Tank - 354 @ 45th St btw 8th & 9th
Admission: $10

Harry Terjanian & Lee Camp

BONUS Open Mic -- The hour-long show will be followed by a half-hour open mic. We’d love for any aspiring political comedians to come show us your 5 minutes.
