Drinking Liberally Olympia Chapter Blog

Drinking Liberally

We will meet again this Monday as we always do. Bring your thoughts. bring a liberal friend, and forward this to other liberal drinkers you know. The Urban Onion assures us that there will not be a band this Monday! This link will open a GoogleMap to show the location of the Urban Onion: http://g.co/maps/eu8pf

Drinking Liberally

Since Monday is a holiday, we are skipping Drinking Liberally for this time. We'll be back on Monday the fifteenth with more jollities and politics for all.

And since it's Labor Day, think about your job and labor unions once or twice. They still count.

Olympia Drinking Liberally Needs Your Help

Dear Olympia Liberal Drinkers,

We're looking for new hosts for your local Drinking Liberally. Kathryn and Brian have done an amazing job over the years, but now we need your help.

Hosting Drinking Liberally is EASY! All you have to do is decide on a location and time and send out reminders. We set you up with a mailing list and alias email and it's simple. You will receive regular emails from us and participate in discussions with chapter leaders throughout the network.

Overall, it's no more difficult than getting some friends together. It works best if people team up. So whether you have a friend you would like to work with or not, just let me know if you're interested and I'll link you with another interested leader.

For more information, read here: http://livingliberally.org/drinking/start

In order to get you started, we'll schedule a 30 minute phone call to go over the logistics and then you'll be ready to host.

Keep Olympia connected to the network of 200+ other Drinking Liberally groups nationwide.

Any questions, feel free to send me an email at katrina@livingliberally.org

Best,
Katrina

We're going to do it again this Monday - the DL group meets again! No particular agenda, as usual, but if you want to expound on anything in the news, this is the place. Time 7:00 p.m. and place the Urban Onion.

If the Onion is playing music, try that Fishtail place down the street. We'll be someplace in the neighborhood.

Update: No music at Urban Onion

Inside sources say that no super loud musical act is scheduled to play at the Urban Onion tomorrow night.

DL-Oly tomorrow at the Urban Onion, 7 PM

Hi all.

We have decided to hang up our Drinking Liberally hosting hats and move on to other activities for our Monday nights. If anyone else would like to take charge (meaning sending out the meeting notices twice a month), you can contact us via the Drinking Liberally Olympia Facebook page.

For those of you who want to meet tomorrow, you might want to check with the staff at the Urban Onion to see if any musical act will be performing.

Drinking Liberally at The Urban Onion 7PM Monday July 7, 2014

Hi all. D.L. is meeting tomorrow, July 7, at the Urban Onion.

Drinking Liberally at The Urban Onion 7PM Monday June 16, 2014

Hi all.

Last time, despite having been told that there would be no band playing, we did find a loud jazz band playing at the Urban Onion and found it inhospitable for conversation. We made a hasty relocation to the Fish Tale Brewpub on Jefferson Street. If we find the Urban Onion again is hosting a band or some other event, we will relocate to the Fish Tale Brewpub.

The big shocking political news of the past two weeks was Eric Cantor's surprising loss to challenger Dave Brat in the Virginia primary. Why it happened and what it means for the upcoming general election are the two big questions posed by the punditocracy.

Come share your opinions on this and other political topics tomorrow. Bring your thoughts, bring a liberal friend, and forward this to other liberal drinkers you know. If you're a newcomer, look for the DL logo table toppers on our table(s). This link will open a GoogleMap to show the location of the Urban Onion: http://g.co/maps/eu8pf
