Lincoln DL going on Hiatus

The holidays being a time where people spend more time with family and at home, the Lincoln chapter is going on Hiatus until February.

We will get a fresh start in the spring and I hope to see many more of you at our gatherings then...

Until then have a nice winter and take care!

Changes in Lincoln Drinking Liberally

Howdy everyone,

Your hosts / leaders have decided to change locations and the meeting day to try and be more accessable to more members.

Mondays seemed to conflict with many peoples plans or work schedules, and the downtown location while lovely
and treating us astoundingly well (At Zens) doesn't always have a lot of available parking nearby.

For now we are moving to a new place - The Watering Hole
West, located to the East of the intersection of West A st and South Coddington Ave.

The good news is:

Plenty of parking.

They have a beer garden out front.

They serve good food.

They have a wide selection of drinks and beers,
at relatively good prices!

Hope to see you there on this next TUESDAY at 7 pm.

Also come out and meet your new host / Leader
Tom McFarland who is replacing Troy Johnson.

CHEERS!!!

Catching up with everyone

Hello Fellow Liberals,

This is Paul one of the Hosts for Lincoln DL.

Summer is upon us and our next gathering is June 15th
starting at 7:30 pm.

The start time was moved back because that seemed to suit when everyone shows up usually.

We are still using Zen's Lounge to gather, since they treat us well and the place is quiet enough to talk, but still has good ambiance.

By the way Zen's gives us a discount...

Additional things going on there in our favorite venue, is new art appearing on the walls the first Friday of every month, if you are on Facebook, Andy, (The Manager)
usually sends out info on happenings going on at Zen's.

Lincoln Drinking Liberally is also on Facebook..

I hope to see you all at Zen's on the 15th.

Until then, take care and enjoy the great weather!

CHEERS!!

Mission Accomplished Party

HI again...

The next gathering of Drinking Liberally Lincoln was scheduled for the 20th of Jan, which is the same night as all the events celbrating the inauguration of the new
President, and many folks had a conflict with which party
to attend that night so I am changing it up a little and
hopefully adding to the joy we all feel with the Bush
era coming to a close.

A "Mission Accomplished" Party will be held on MONDAY the 19TH of JANUARY at Zens starting at 7 pm, Hosted by the Lincoln Chapter of DRINKING LIBERALLY!

Celebrating the inglorious end of the terrible reign of King Georgie the Lesser... :)

Come raise a glass and toast George as he spends his last night in Washington DC as nightmare in Chief, and wish him well (or Not) with a toast.

The Person that shares the best toast to Bush wins a
$25 gift certificate to The Watering Hole.
(As judged by two guest Judges to be announced).

Other reasons to show up....

Snacks will be provided....

Zens is just an awesome place to hang out, make sure to check out the cool art lining the walls all from Local Lincoln Artists.

And finally The Lincoln DL Chapter is asking for free will cash donations for the Lincoln Food Bank, you don't have to donate to come. But it would be nice for everyone to throw in a dollar or two to help support local people in need of food assistance in these troubled times if you spare it.

Also I personally will match every dollar given with a dollar of my own money so your gift goes that much farther.

Please RSVP me in reply to this message so I can plan the snacks properly so everyone will have plenty of muchies.

Thank you all for your efforts this year to make this community and country a better place.

I hope to see you on the 19th.

Cheers!

Paul

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hello,

I hope this finds everyone warm and indoors safe from the extreme cold we are having.

I didn't send out a reminder for the December gathering
because I figured everyone would be involved in holiday things, and also just burned out from all the efforts of
supporting other causes and candidates thruout the earlier part of the year.

This e-mail it let everyone know about the January gathering which will be held on TUESDAY Jan 20th, a day
when George Bush will finally leave Washington and this country can begin to heal itself of the wounds it suffered
under his incompetence.

This will be a larger than normal gathering, as other
Liberal / Progressive Organizations are going to be invited to come as well.

I have no name for the party yet, but would really like suggestions from everyone.

The Party will be at Zen's for a couple of reasons;

one, it is a big enough place, and quiet enough to chat.

Two, Zen's has gratiously given us a 5 percent discount
- for all DL members.

Reasons to show up...

1. Celebrate the last gasp of the Bush Years with some
of Lincolns finest people.

2. Peruse the new Art exhibition hanging on the walls, I guarantee you will find some interesting things there.

3. I promise to NOT serve any holiday leftovers, but will have some free tasty treats there to go with your favorite adult or non alcoholic Beverage.

4. As per our usual Winter DL Lincoln policy, I will be asking for a small free will donation of money for the Lincoln Food bank, since the months AFTER the holidays are the leanest times for that wonderful charity.
SO please come and drop a dollar into the collection tin
and give a small measure back to our community please.

5. Spend Pauls money...!!! For ALL donations given by Lincoln Drinking Liberally members, I will match what ever you give with my own money, doubling the funds to the food bank.

More to follow as things develope, please e-mail me with any suggestions or comments.

Until Then, everyone take care, stay warm, and enjoy the
season.

CHeers!!!

in coherant sentences.
