I have just confirmed that the Democratic candidate for State Senate District 10, Wendy Davis, will be attending our meeting!

Wendy is a former Fort Worth city councilmember, and is running against a 20-year incumbent in a very tight race.

Please tell your friends that this is their chance to meet and ask questions of Wendy in a VERY informal and intimate setting. I hope all of you can make it, and try to bring a friend or two as well!

I know things are getting busy with the holidays (and that pesky election thing) coming and all, but we're still having get-togethers!

This month's meeting is in the same place as last month's - Buffalo Bros. on University, just south of TCU. Let's try to meet outside this month if the weather is nice! They have a nice patio area in the back that would make a great meeting place.

As you may have noticed, you don't hear a lot from Bernie or me these days outside of meeting reminders. I'm not sure Bernie has seen his house in the last two weeks during daylight, and I've been locked in a basement at TCU working on computer stuff for longer than I care to think about.

Anyway, we're still meeting, and you can expect to see an email from me later today!

The Tarrant County Democratic Party (I think. It may not be them, but whatever...) is hosting a debate watching party this Friday at the Rahr Brewery starting at 6:30PM.

Yes, we took last month off so that everyone could join their friends to watch Obama's acceptance speech, but we'll be back at it this month, at the same place and time!

Well, it's actually next week, but my goodness doesn't it seem like the time is FLYING by?

In honor of the Convention and so as not to conflict with any Speech Watching parties, we will not be holding our usual meeting next Thursday. (Really it's only because Lon can't be there, but the other thing is a better excuse.)

Let's recouperate over Labor Day weekend, work on getting out the vote during September, then meet again on the 25th of next month to share war stories of pounding the pavement!

We hope to see all of you there, and this time, bring two friends!

Our deepest apologies for the late reminder email! Bernie is crazy busy doing everything he can to get a particular progressive candidate into office this fall, and I'm just crazy busy with my new job!

Nonetheless, we're still hosting the monthly meeting of the Fort Worth Drinking Liberally group this Thursday at Buffalo Bros. Pizza, Wings and Beer. The party starts at 6:30, look for the giant bald guy in the Fort Worth Cats jersey (Number 42)!
