Drinking Liberally: Doesn't Even Know What "V.P." Stands For
Submitted by Richard Rozzelle on Thu, 08/21/2008 - 9:37am.
Greetings all my vice and ethical principals, So if the presidential campaign season were a roller coaster, the primaries would constitute that first huge hill that gives the whole ride its momentum. This is also the part of the ride that makes you wonder if you should have gotten on board in the first place, and it's the most likely to send your intestines into your throat. But then, after the big hill, we get to enjoy a succession of smaller, no-less exciting humps that keep our interest until the big loopty-loop at the end. We're going to go over these in the next couple weeks: V.P. Announcements and The Conventions. (Warning - the GOP Convention hill has been known to make small children barf.) The Democratic Convention is likely to go smooth and fun, with the Clintons, the Obamas and maybe a Kennedy or two all waving their hands in the air from the front car. But the V.P. Selection hill - that won could be dicey. You know how an unexpected turn can make you pee your pants a little until you realize you're still safely on track? That could be the case here. Only time will tell, and only Drinking Liberally will discuss the potential candidates with the prerequisite amount of beer. So come out tonight at 7:00 to the Green Bean on S. Elm Street to enjoy the ride. You must be 5 feet or taller to get on the coaster, |
