Keep Fayetteville Beautiful

Good morning, gang!

The City of Fayetteville has reached out to ask whether we want to continue our adoption of Lafayette (from College Avenue to Arkansas Avenue).

Long-time members will remember that we adopted the stretch of road as part of our town's Curb the Clutter program (now rebranded as Keep Fayetteville Beautiful) several years ago, and while we did a pretty good job scheduling regular litter-collecting events early on, it's been awhile since we've had one.

Another group is interested in adopting the road, but I wanted to run it by our group first. If we're going to keep it, we should commit to a couple events a year to collect litter.

Let me hear from you!

Best,
Greg

Tuesday, August 2

Somebody left the door open, and July slipped out. We're officially in the dog days of summer with 100 days left until Election Day.

Did you watch the RNC or DNC? Have you lost and/or regained hope for humanity? Come on out to Hammontree's tomorrow evening around 7:00 PM, and we'll chat about it over a cold beverage.

Tuesday, July 5

We hope everybody had a safe and fun Fourth of July! America! Two hundred forty years and...counting, right? I mean, the republic'll still be around come next July...right? Probably? Surely we've got at least a couple good years left!

If you missed it, this piece titled "How American Politics Went Insane" in The Atlantic is very much worth a read: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/07/how-american-politics-went-insane/485570/

So, anyway, come on out to Hammontree's tonight around 7:00 PM to hoist a pint or two in the name of freedom, liberty, eagles, and what-not.

Tuesday, June 21

It's that time again! Join us at Hammontree's tonight around 7:00 PM to hoist a pint in honor of the unceremonious dumping of Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump's former campaign manager and aggressor toward women. The wheels are really coming off that campaign, no? One-point-three million cash on hand to Hillary's $42 million? Sad! Maybe we'll take up the world's least-helpful collection--loose change, pocket lint, partially-used matchbooks--and send it Donald's way.

See you there!

Tuesday, June 7

Fellow Liberal drinkers! It's that time again. Come on by Hammontree's Tuesday evening around 7:00 PM to hoist a pint with friends and learn whether or not Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will finally clinch the Democratic nomination to become the first female nominee of a major party, or if Senator Bernie Sanders will live to fight another day.

We'll see you there!
