Since quitting her first term as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin has spent her time much like many bored people, writing on Facebook and Twitter and spouting off with opinions about everything. She has recently taken it upon herself to make endorsements in every political race, from House and Senate races down to dog catcher of Wasilla. However, Drinking Liberally thus far has managed to avoid that endorsement. So let's celebrate!

This month, we've had lots of talk about amendments to the Constitution. Wingnuts want to repeal the Fourteenth Amendment directive of birthright citizenship. They want to trample the spirit of the First Amendment section allowing for the free exercise of religion by opposing the Islamic cultural center in Lower Manhattan. This fits in nicely with their opposition to the Fourth, Fifth... really everything but the Second Amendment.

We here at Drinking Liberally have a different focus when it comes to amendments. We are the strongest defenders in America of the First Amendment "or the right of the people peaceably to assemble." Former commanding General in Afghanistan Stanley McChrystal told Rolling Stone magazine that his favorite drink is Bud Lite Lime. Incredibly, it was the other comments that got him fired. But since it's so rare such a bad beer makes it into the news, we at Drinking Liberally are officially naming this Wednesday's event Bud Lite Lime night. In its honor, no Bud Lite Lime will be sold, consumed, or even talked about. Mainly because, well, it's Bud Lite Lime. Bad enough that the beer's artificial, but the lime flavoring too?
