When right wing "think" tanks say Republicans are the problem...

...you know there's a problem. I linked to this on facebook earlier, but I think it's an important enough article to link to this way too. And, it's only something I've been saying for years. Nice of Norm Ornstein and Thomas Mann to finally come around to reality:

The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics. It is ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.

When one party moves this far from the mainstream, it makes it nearly impossible for the political system to deal constructively with the country’s challenges.

“Both sides do it” or “There is plenty of blame to go around” are the traditional refuges for an American news media intent on proving its lack of bias, while political scientists prefer generality and neutrality when discussing partisan polarization. Many self-styled bipartisan groups, in their search for common ground, propose solutions that move both sides to the center, a strategy that is simply untenable when one side is so far out of reach.

It's time to Drink Liberally

Did Mitt and Ann Romney try to sound like average people today, but really showed yet again just how out of touch they are? Is it a day that ends in a Y?

What's on your mind? See you Wednesday.

Happy pagan celebration of the rebirth of nature

If you're like me did you wage war on religion a few days ago? I sure did. I ate chocolate eggs, marshmellow peeps, and some jellybeans. None of those have anything to do with the Christian holiday of Easter. I'm sure I made Jesus weep.

Some interesting articles I noticed this week:

Did you know AT&T, Verizon, etc. have been getting kick-backs allowing SMS spammers to put charges on your cell phone bill.

Want to annoy the NSA?

What are you reading?

See you Wednesday.

This week, I promise

Yes indeed Drinking Liberally Denver is meeting this week Wednesday. What's there's to talk about? Lots. How about:

Rush Limbaugh's radio show will have NO national radio ads for the next two weeks. I'd like to think this is the beginning of the end for him, but what happens when we're all not paying attention anymore in two weeks time?

The old teleprompter attack again? Really Santorum, you're that out of things to say?

The UN says we tortured Bradley Manning.

What's on your mind? See you Wednesday.
