Drinking Liberally is this Thursday (May. 23rd) at 6pm at the Lansdowne Arms in Highlands Ranch.

We had a fantastic turnout last time, with over 20 folks showing up to chat about the latest news and notable noise in Fox newspeak nonsense. Now there’s a fresh batch of news to discuss (or laugh about) including:

• Bill Maher’s review of his version of IRS Tax forms for the Tea Party
• Colbert talks about the aspersions being thrown at Rep. Loony Gohmert’s asparagus
• John Stewart explains Congress in less than a minute

Anyway, I hope all of you are doing well and I also hope to many of you Thursday. So see you there and remember to Bring A Friend.

Come join us and chat with liberal and progressive friends while lift a pint of draft beer (or, in my case, Iced Tea.) There’s plenty as usual to talk about, including the great Drinking Liberally 10th Anniversary party this last Saturday in Lone Tree (several of you where there, as well as many others from DL Castle Rock, DL Parker, and DL Denver chapters.)  Over 27 folks showed up!

Can you believe Drinking Liberally is10 years old!? (And we’re now over 6 years in Denver South Metro, aka Highlands Ranch aka CD6.)

So, we’re are going to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Drinking Liberally this Saturday (May 4th) at 4pm at the Rio Grande Restaurant in Lone Tree -  we’re also joining up there with several other Drinking Liberally Chapters from Colorado, so you’ll be able to meet DL’ers from other locations.

We won’t have Professor Stiglitz there (he’ll be at the big 10th anniversary bash in New York City) Instead, we’ll have us – our growing community of liberals and progressives who like lifting a pint or two with our old and new friends.

So I hope you can make it to the Rio Grande Restaurant in Lone Tree just south of Park Meadows (the address is 9535 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, CO 80124  - at the United Artists Movie Theater just off of C-470.)  See you there and remember to Bring A Friend! Cheers-  Rick

Hi to everyone! Please come to Drinking Liberally this Thursday (April 25th) at 6pm at the Lansdowne Arms in Highlands Ranch. We had a great turnout last time; lots of new progressives from the area as well as many of the great usual faces.

Rather than report on the recent news itself, I’ll provide a few links about the state of the media – as it’s shown itself over the past week:

• Murdoch’s New York Post is seriously f’d up
• CNN finds new ways to screw up even more
• and of course Climate change, Keystone XL, and environmental disasters are of no real interest to mainstream media

No wonder more people turn to other sources for the news. So take a break from the news noise and join in with friends and fellow liberals for a drink (and even a bite.) Come talk politics (or not – we recently had great conversations about sports, vacations, and even physics!) And – as always - remember to Bring A Friend.

Eek. I'm late with the announcement for DRINKING LIBERALLY THURSDAY APRIL 11 AT 6PM.

And there's so much to talk about too, from Chained CPI, an Idiot from Kentucky, and how Exxon is giving Arkansas a taste of what we'll see with the Keystone XL pipeline.
