I'm following up on my email regarding getting together to watch election results this coming Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone who responded. The general sense I got was that Kelleher's is probably not the best place to watch the results, and that people were leaning toward attending either the Democratic or Green Party gatherings that evening.

Being a general liberals group, I'm not going to suggest that anyone attend one party or the other. I'm told that the Democratic event would be open. I'll send along more details on it when I get them. If you want to attend the Greens' party, let me know, and I'll pass that along to them so you get the details.

Either way, remember that the next Drinking Liberally meetup is on Tuesday, November 11 - same time, same place as always. Let's all get together and celebrate!

Hello, everyone!

I just wanted to remind everyone that our regularly scheduled meeting of the Peoria chapter of Drinking Liberally is tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. at Kelleher's Irish Pub in downtown Peoria. This is our last one before the election, so it should be fun!

I also wanted to ask you all if you're interested in having a election results party at Kelleher's on November 4. Please let me know, and if there is enough interest, I can schedule an additional Drinking Liberally meeting. Thanks!

Just a friendly reminder to anyone who isn't on the Meetup list that the next meeting of the Peoria chapter of Drinking Liberally is tomorrow evening - same time, same place - 6:30 p.m. onward at Kelleher's Irish Pub in downtown Peoria.

Plenty to talk about this week! The conventions are wrapped up. Sarah Palin pounces. The Democrats seem to be on the decline. The Bush administration agrees that socialism is okay as long as it's Fannie May and Freddie Mack.
