     It's been a heavy few weeks. North Carolina apparently thought Mississippi had a few bright ideas concerning discrimination and thought it would try to make bigotry part of the state constitution. Candidates have been chosen, the state of play for November is becoming more apparent.
     As things heat up you can be assured we'll be your one stop shop for talking all about it. So come on out tomorrow, the 16th, to Dolce Vita at 7pm so we can talk all about it.

May Day, May Day!!
This Tuesday is May 1, AKA 'May Day', which is a day of worldwide protest, strikes and all-around support for the labor movement.
So instead of the typical Wednesday, we've moved your local DL chapter's gathering a day earlier than usual. We'll still be at Dolce Vita, but on Tuesday evening at 7pm.
Folks all over the country are staying home from work on Tuesday. But if you cannot, then have a conversation over lunch about the concerted movement on the right to crush the labor movement in the USA. Do something different on Tuesday to show that you're aware and concerned...And top it off with a fun evening at DL Charlotte!

Hello out there in Charlotte's left-of-center-land! Wednesday April 4th, we'll be at Dolce Vita Wine Bar chatting and sipping and occupying that lovely space to "the left" of the bar. 7pm.
So, all of the sudden we're into the 4th month of 2012, and we're only 153 days from the start of the Democratic National Convention. Buzzz, buzzz.
The Daily Show announced yesterday that Jon Stewart will be taping during the DNC at Imaginon, and tickets were gone within an hour. Hate that I missed out on that! We also learned that Stephen Colbert will NOT be coming to Charlotte that week. Bummer.
But rest assured that your humble Charlotte chapter of DL will be busily hosting gatherings, parties, out-of-town Liberal Drinkers and hopefully even a liberal comedy show during the DNC week, so stay in touch with us.
But meanwhile, c'mon out and join in the progressive fun as we like-minded and very smart folks gather at Dolce Vita Wednesday night. We're friendly, informed, thirsty and looking forward to seeing you!

There are plenty- we have a GOP circus that is seems to be continuing despite all odds, Syria continues to burn as the world sidles around it, and the DNC continues to march ever-closer to Charlotte.
