Upper East Side BlogDL:UES This Tuesday 12/16 - 6:30-9:00Submitted by Matthew Bachiochi on Sun, 12/14/2008 - 7:15pm.Christmas comes early this year to the Upper East Side. Drinking Liberally will meet this Tuesday, December 16 from 6:30-9:00. Come out and share some seasonal cheer with your fellow progressives and discuss all things political. Personally, I want to talk about Bush's future as a ninja. Did anyone else see those cat-like reflexes he used to dodge some shoes? Look for us near the front of the bar and don't forget to bring a friend. What: Drinking Liberally:UES Hope to see you there, Matthew Drinking Liberally:UES Tonight 11/25 6:30-9:30Submitted by Matthew Bachiochi on Tue, 11/25/2008 - 10:00am.On the heals of his historic win, President-Elect Obama has wasted no time selecting a transition team and vetting cabinet members. Probably the most telling sign of the times for me was seeing Ed Rollins, right-wing strategist and CNN contributor, say that even he was impressed with the team Obama was putting together and hopeful for the direction he will take us. The election may be over, but the hard work has just begun. Time to heal post election wounds and focus on getting this country back on track. Join us tonight to celebrate an historic victory and discuss the future. What: Drinking Liberally:UES Look for us near the front of the bar. Hope to see you there, Matthew Do More Than VoteSubmitted by Matthew Bachiochi on Mon, 11/03/2008 - 10:09am.Liberal Drinkers - Tomorrow is a day that we've been dreaming of, Make it memorable -- and make your memories proud ones. Make sure you pull a lever, 1. Go Vote 1. If you have any questions about voting, 2. For those wanting to volunteer, And our friends at the Working Families Party 3. If the question is "Where Do I Go On Election Night?" It only comes once every four years -- Happy Election Day Drinking Liberally:UES Tonight - Tues 10/28/08 6:30-9:30Submitted by Matthew Bachiochi on Tue, 10/28/2008 - 7:43am.One week to go. Obama is making his closing argument while all the Palin camp can talk about is clothes. Obama is discussing his economic plans while McCain calls him names, rather than telling the voters what he would do. Obama reserves some air time to talk to the American people, while the Republicans air more rumors through their robocalls. It’s not to surprising that Democrats are showing up in droves to vote early in the states where that’s allowed. Show up tonight and show your support for democracy and…beer. Drinking Liberally on the UES meets tonight and you are invited to come and share your opinion while you share a pint. What: Drinking Liberally:UES Want other ways to get involved? Below are other events Drinking Liberally is supporting in this last week before Election Day. Hope to see you tonight, but if not, GET OUT AND VOTE! Matthew Liberal Drinkers - Do you want to do more that watch from the sidelines? Want to Hit the Road? Knock Doors Closer to Home? Rather Make Phone Calls? Need Something Social? - Election Night Parties: all over the City: Drinking Liberally:UES - Tonight - 9/30/08 - 6:30 PMSubmitted by Matthew Bachiochi on Tue, 09/30/2008 - 10:55am.Drinking Liberally on the Upper East Side meets tonight at Doc Watson's. There have been few months in recent memory where we've had more to talk about. The first presidential debate has happened and we are two days away from the VP debate. The economy is on a roller coaster ride and Congress is keeping things interesting. Obama is slowly gaining in the polls, but how is he doing in the swing states where this election will be decided? Come out and discuss all these topics and more (like the fact that SNL didn't need to pay its writers this week). Festivities start at 6:30. Look for us in the backyard of Doc Watson's, down the staircase at the end of the bar. What: Drinking Liberally:UES Hope to see you there, Matthew See all blog posts from this chapter |
