Cincinnati BlogDL Cyclones Obama bobblehead night - 1/24/09Submitted by Adam Bartel on Wed, 01/07/2009 - 7:18pm.Hi all, I wanted to send out an additional reminder about the DL trip to the Cincinnati Cyclones game in a couple weeks. We've had a good set of responses so far, and want to see if we can build up a group big enough to get a discount - or at the very least get our name on the scoreboard. The details are as follows: the game will be on Saturday, January 24th. The game starts at 7:30; as yet I'm not sure how tickets will work out, whether we'll all meet somewhere or just leave them at will call for everyone. Tickets are $10. Right now we have 13 people signed up so far. If we get to 20, then we can get our name on the scoreboard. If you want to come, and have not sent an e-mail letting us know, I need for you to confirm your interest so we can get an accurate head count (even if you've mentioned it in passing, please let me know to help keep everything straight). Any other questions on the event, feel free to let us know. Cheers, DL District One - 1/6/09 - Fries CafeSubmitted by Adam Bartel on Mon, 01/05/2009 - 8:38pm.Hi all, Just a friendly reminder that we'll be having our weekly get-together tomorrow night (Tuesday, January 6th) at Fries Cafe, on 3247 Jefferson Ave. We'll start at 7:30, and end when the last of us leaves. Since Fries does not serve food, we'll be ordering in, and this week it'll be Adriatico's Pizza, one of the best in town. If you're interested in getting in on the pizza, please arrive by 7:45 and we'll place our order. Hope to see you out with us tomorrow night! Cheers, DL Cyclones Obama bobblehead night - 1/24/09Submitted by Adam Bartel on Fri, 01/02/2009 - 12:03pm.Hi all, First, on behalf of all of DL, let me wish you a happy new year. At least we liberals have something to look forward to in 2009! As we've mentioned before, we'll be cancelling DL on Inauguration Day (January 20th) so everyone can do their own celebrating (we're encouraging members to attend the Springfield Township Democratic Club Inauguration Party). But, that Saturday, January 24th, we'll be putting together a special outing at the Cincinnati Cyclones game. We've been wanting to put one together for a couple years, though we were waiting for my banishment from Cyclones games to expire. And, they've put together a fantastic promotion that night: Obama Bobblehead Night! Now, we don't know a lot of the details, other than the game will begin at 7:30, and tickets are $10. To get a better idea of how we're going to handle everything, we first want to gauge interest in the event. Most likely, we'll buy tickets as a group and then leave them at will call for everyone to pick up. If you could let me know if you'd want to go (and how many tickets you'd need), that will give us an idea of how many to expect and where to go from there. We hope to get a big crowd together to celebrate this unique event, so let us know if you can make it! Cheers, Time correction for triviaSubmitted by Adam Bartel on Tue, 12/30/2008 - 11:24am.Trivia starts at 7:30 tonight, so we suggest that people start arriving at 6:30. As usual, please try to let us know if you can attend tonight so we can plan appropriately. Drinking Liberally Trivia Night Tuesday, December 30, *2008* -- RSVP Required!Submitted by John Karabaic on Tue, 12/30/2008 - 9:53am.And, yes, that should have been "2008" in the subject line. Sigh. Come join us for Trivia Night at Molly Malone's Pub on Tuesday night! While trivia officially starts at 8:30PM, we have to get there earlier to grab a table. Please tell us if you're attending so we know how big a table to get! We'll be there by 7:30PM. This week we saw
Coming Soon:
The Drinking Liberally Trivia Team (and that means you!) is competing once again at Molly Malone's Pub at 6111 Montgomery Road. It used to be called The Dubliner. It's right in the heart of Pleasant Ridge, across Montgomery Road from Everybody's Records, around the corner from Hamilton County Democratic HQ and down the block from Queen City Comics. The parking lot is kind of small, but the there's ample street parking. SORTA buses all stop nearby: Driving directions are available on from any online map service; I wrote a simple set at the end of this message.
