Reclaim our city: Drink liberally next week!

Hi liberal drinkers,

We've been through a lot as a city these past couple of weeks. While the bombings were shocking, the behavior of first responders and ordinary Bostonians was nothing short of heroic. Now it's time to reclaim our city. Next week, we're going back to Copley Square to drink liberally.

Drinking Liberally Boston
Wednesday, May 1, 7-8:30 pm
Globe Bar, 565 Boylston St, Boston MA
https://www.facebook.com/events/134222960100743

We have a lot to talk about. What was behind the bombings, and how did we respond as a city? What more can we do to assist the victims of the bombings? What do you make of last week's citywide manhunt and extraordinary "shelter-in-place" request - was it a precedent for martial law, or an appropriate response to a dangerous situation? How do we maintain public safety, while continuing to operate as a free and open society? We'd love to hear your thoughts on these topics - and anything else you care to discuss!

We'll collect donations for the One Fund for Boston next week. Please bring a little extra cash to chip in!

See you next week,

- Wendy and Shai

Drinks with Jeremy Ben-Ami: Good Life Bar, TONIGHT!

Hi liberal drinkers,

Join us for drinks and conversation with Jeremy Ben-Ami, the president of J Street, TONIGHT at the Good Life Bar!

Drinks with Jeremy Ben-Ami, president of J Street
Monday, April 22, 7:30 - 9:30
Good Life Bar, 28 Kingston St., Boston MA
(Near South Station)
http://www.facebook.com/events/505746006152066

Please note the change in venue - in order to support the ongoing investigation of last week's events in the Back Bay, we're going to be at the Good Life Bar, near South Station. It's the same great event, same great speaker - just a slight change of location!

One important lesson from last week's terrible bombings is that now is the time to redouble our efforts for peace and justice in the world. In that context, please join us for a lively discussion with J Street President and founder Jeremy Ben-Ami. J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans fighting for the future of Israel as the democratic homeland of the Jewish people. You'll hear an engaging talk about the state of the Israeli/Palestinian crisis, and our role in helping reach a peaceful, democratic resolution to it. A Q&A and mingling will follow.

This event is co-sponsored by J Street Boston Young Professionals. See you tonight!

- Wendy and Shai
