Drinking Liberally chapters are making plans to celebrate the Inauguration all around the country.

Feeding Liberally
In honor of President-Elect Obama's call to service on Martin Luther King Day, Drinking Liberally chapters around the country will ask their members to support local food banks through donations of money and food, in conjunction with our Inaugural Parties.

It is the job of Drinking Liberally to determine the Official Unofficial Drink of the Obama Presidency. So send us your ideas.

Come and watch the Presidential Inauguration within sight of the spot where Barack Obama announced his candidacy and introduced his running mate. Robbie's Restaurant (4 South Capitol Plaza) will be open from 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, so get your seat in plenty of time to watch the oath at eleven, and listen to the speech and other festivities following. This non-partisan celebration is being sponsored by an amazing number of "do gooder" orgs around the city, including Drinking Liberally in Louisville We will have a banner with the DL "bottle" logo at the celebration.

Columbia County will be having their own Inaugural Ball in Scappoose on Tuesday, January 20th from 7:00 until 10:00 at Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant, in the bar. A cash or check donation of $5.00 or more will be collected at the door to benefit Columbia Pacific Food Bank. There will be music, big screen televised happenings from the capital and local politicians. This is open to all and under 21 are OK until 9:00. The event is sponsored by Columbia County Democratic Central Committee and St. Helens Drinking Liberally with promotion from Moveon.org, Democracy for America, Presidential Inaugural Committee and the DNC. Dress is from formal to casual - we just want you to come. I think dressing up is fun, though.
