Los Angeles In less than two weeks, on Tuesday, January 20, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Millions will flock to DC to take part in the historic day. Others, like us, will be stuck going to work. But that doesn't mean we have to miss out on an evening's festivities! On Tuesday night, January 20, join Drinking Liberally and Moveon.org for our first-ever Inaugural Ball! We'll be the best place in Los Angeles to celebrate the first day of a Democrat in the White House in eight years... not to mention the last day of George W. Bush! When: Tuesday, January 20, 7pm-? Creative formal wear preferred! Dust off that taffeta prom dress or powder blue suit - you know it's in the closet! We hope that if you can't make it to DC, you'll spend some of your Inauguration Night with us. Pasadena Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 We have reserved the Banquet Room at Madeleine's so that we can spread out and stretch our legs. We'll have a stereo pumping out the tunes and a bunch of very happy people keeping the energy flowing. We may even have some balloons. The next official meeting of the Carbondale chapter of Drinking Liberally will be held at the Pour House on Saturday, January 17th at 7:00pm. It won’t be just any old “official meeting” kind of meeting, oh no! This is going to be a real Paar-taay in honor of the upcoming inauguration of Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America! So bring your family, bring your friends, and be prepared to have a rollicking good time in downtown Carbondale in honor of Barack & Friends! Idaho Pocatello In celebration of Barack Obama's Inauguration as the 44th President of the United States. Join us for a replay of President Obama's swearing in and inaugural address as well as music (by Swingshift), dancing, and much more. The event is open to the public, tickets to help defray the cost of the event are $10 per person. Tickets available at the door the night of the event. Semi-formal attire. Illinois Monday January 19th, the last day of the Bush Presidency, the Accountants of Homeland Security will be hosting Naperville Walter Payton's Roundhouse, Aurora, IL 60505 Let's get together and feel all right! This is our victory, so let's celebrate the light at the end of this eight year tunnel. Walter Payton's Round House offers a great atmosphere, the best food in town, and a variety of specialty ales brewed on site. We will be set up in the pub area. Robbie's Restaurant (4 South Capitol Plaza) will be open from 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, so get your seat in plenty of time to watch the oath at eleven, and listen to the speech and other festivities following.
