Recess Comedy Show: The Games of the Last Session

Event Details:

Congress hasn’t passed health care legislation, energy reform, or ended massive human rights violations like the Guantanamo prison and the genocide in Darfur. They’ve been taking breaks from actually voting on legislation all session.

But, in August, they’re taking a recess.

Join us for a special Laughing Liberally comedy show that reflects on what Congress has or (more likely) hasn’t done so far.

We’ll see who bullied the other kids on the playground and who sat in the field eating grass. Who was able to hopscotch around the controversy and who really jacked things up.

After all, Congress puts the recess in recession.

In addition to live performances from comedians, the event will also feature a screening of the ever-popular health care videos co-produced by the SEIU and Laughing Liberally.

The hour-long show will be followed by a half-hour open mic. We’d love for any aspiring political comedians to come show us your 5 minutes.
