They said it was impossible.
That the chance of victory was too small.
Then the Cubs won the World Series
with the same odds as Trump’s.
People took comfort in projections.
Maybe even got a little complacent.
And the Cubs proved last night
that the unimaginable can happen.
They were all but written off.
But through extra innings, and rain delays,
their comeback proved the old adage
that “it ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
When the unthinkable happens in baseball
it’s a fairytale come true.
If it happens in this election,
it’ll be a nightmare beyond imagination.
In politics, like baseball, it ain’t over ’till it’s over.
And even if you’re ready for this to be over,
