Denver BlogScreening Liberally Tomorrow: Oliver Stone's W.Submitted by Paul Preston on Mon, 10/13/2008 - 3:05pm.Tomorrow--Tuesday, October 14th, Screening Liberally will be having an outing at the Cherry Creek Mall Theater to view Oliver Stone's new movie W. The movie starts at 7:30 PM. We'll start gathering outside the theater at the Cherry Creek mall at 7:00. This is a Special Screening of the movie and we've managed to get our hands on some passes to see it. There's a limited quantity, so please email Johne at johne@drinkingliberally.org to reserve your spot. With only a handful of passes--and some already spoken for--you must act quickly to claim your spot! And because it is a special screening, you can't get in to the movie UNLESS you have a special screening ticket. The PR firm also sent t-shirts and W shot glasses as part of the passes, so if you're interested in any of this schwag, let's us know! You can check out the film's website here: http://wthefilm.com/ And the trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weELpc3pYMs See you all tomorrow Free Stuff, Free Movie! This WednesdaySubmitted by John E. on Mon, 09/22/2008 - 3:09pm.Who wants to see a free movie? You all do, I just know it. Lionsgate Films is about to release Bill Maher's new film Religulous. If you didn't already heard about this, sorry. We're still trying to figure out how to best have a weekly Drinking Liberally chapter and a Screening Liberally chapter. Anyway, so yes, we still have a bunch of free passes to see Religulous. Send me an email if you'd like to go. We'll be meeting in the lobby of the Chez Artiste theater at 2800 S. Colorado Blvd, this Wednesday the 24th at 7pm, for a 7:30pm showtime. Unfortunately, there is no general admission for this screening. So, unless you get an email back from me that you're on the list, you're still welcome to join us at the Skylark. Sorry, but we're only getting so many tickets. Rotten Tomatoes, who's reviewers give it a 67%, says: Synopsis: No religion is safe from the sharp aim--and still sharper wit--of Bill Maher in this comic look at organized belief systems around the world. No religion is safe from the sharp aim--and still sharper wit--of Bill Maher in this comic look at organized belief systems around the world. This controversial documentary is directed by Larry Charles, who previously made both fans and foes with BORAT. And here's the trailer: See ya, Screening Liberally at Greenwood Village Landmark - PINEAPPLE EXPRESS - 6:00pm WedSubmitted by Adam Mordecai on Tue, 08/19/2008 - 12:45am.Hey Film buffs! WHAT: PINEAPPLE EXPRESS There are issues that our nation faces, difficult and challenging issues, that cloud the landscape with their controversy and varying view points. No issue is of greater importance, or talked about more, than Marijuana Legalization. Except for all the other issues. And what better way to discuss those issues than with a slapstick comedy about a couple loser drug dealers? Join us at a new venue to enjoy the political discourse that is PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, from the makers of Superbad and 40 Year Old Virgin A movie like this must be seen in a venue that can handle this level of political discourse, and no theatre is better equipped to handle the complexity of this film than the Greenwood Village Landmark, the theatre Westword Magazine gave the title, "Best Theatre in Denver 2008" to. Tickets are $12. Why would one pay $12? I will tell you why. With your ticket comes UNLIMITED POPCORN AND SODA. Additionally, all the seating is plush leather awesomeness, with fewer seats and better quality digital sound and picture. Also, Gourmet Kitchen. This theatre is the new hotness. And you have to come laugh with us at it. Drinking starts at 6. Movie starts at 7. Cheers, Paul, John E, and Mordecai ABOUT THE MOVIE: Screening Liberally gets a new co-host!Submitted by Adam Mordecai on Mon, 07/21/2008 - 6:53pm.Greetings fellow film buffs!
